Fiber Optic Components Improve
Dynamic Range and Contrast Resolution
for Radiography Systems

Medical radiography is undergoing a digital revolution that offers many benefits for radiologists, hospitals, OEMs, and patients:

  • Significant improvement in dynamic range and contrast resolution of images provides more accurate diagnosis
  • Increased life expectancy for CCD and CMOS sensors
  • Digital image enhancement leads to the extraction of more information–and earlier disease detection
  • Instant retrieval and transfer of images facilitates consultation
  • Lower operating and consumable costs save hospitals money

The digital revolution in medical X-ray imaging relies heavily on INCOM’s fiber optic components. Our faceplates and tapers, when coupled with CCDs, provide better images, reduced radiation exposure to sensors, and lower operating costs.

INCOM’s ability to make the largest tapers and faceplates in the world is opening doors to increasingly larger X-ray sensors for full chest X-rays and whole body scans. The medical market also includes fiber optic components to advance and enhance arthroscopic digital X-rays, endoscope illuminations, and mammography. INCOM is contributing to the digital radiography revolution, and we endeavor to help OEMs break new ground in product development and OEM/patient benefits.

Making Dental Radiography Faster
and More Economical

The newest dental curing guns cure epoxy in three seconds. Digital radiography gives dentists high-resolution images in four seconds. Thanks to the integration of INCOM’s fiber optic technology into new dental products, modern dentistry is faster and more economical than ever.

Incom Can Help You Create
Your Next Generation Dental Curing Gun

For over 35 years, INCOM has provided OEMs with two benefits—state-of-the-art curing gun tips and forward-thinking development services. We offer expertise in light transfer and curing tip technologies that can enable the expansion of new products such as dual-purpose curing/whitening systems. We welcome partnerships in innovation.

Faceplates Perfectly Matched
to Your Most Advanced
Digital Radiography System

INCOM has provided key technological advancements in fiber optic faceplates that today provide dentists with near instant, high-resolution images while greatly reducing sensor exposure to harmful X-rays. In both intraoral and panoramic digital X-ray systems, INCOM’s faceplates provide a critical X-ray barrier between the X-ray emitter and the semiconductor device (CCD or CMOS). This barrier prolongs sensor life, reduces background noise, and improves image quality so dentists obtain clear, detailed pictures for analysis.
